Our Philosophy
At RawFoodCalculator.com, we believe that nutrition is the foundation of health. The commercial pet food industry has normalized ultra-processed kibble, but dogs and cats are biological carnivores who thrive on fresh, moisture-rich, species-appropriate diets.
Why We Built This Tool
Raw feeding math can be intimidating. Calculating 80% muscle meat, 10% bone, and 10% secreting organ for a 43lb dog shouldn't require a spreadsheet every mealtime. We created this tool to remove the barrier to entry. We want to empower pet parents to take control of their animal's bowl with confidence using tools like our Meal Planner and Cost Estimator.
Methodology
Our calculator logic is derived from the "Prey Model Raw" (PMR) guidelines, widely accepted by holistic veterinarians and canine nutritionists globally.
- Adult Dogs: Calculated at 2-4% of ideal body weight based on activity level.
- Puppies: Calculated at 4-10% of current body weight based on age (rapid growth phase). See our Puppy Calculator.

My Story
Hi, I'm Mohammed. I built this tool after struggling to find a clean, ad-free, and mobile-friendly way to calculate meals for my own dogs.
Like many of you, I started with a confusing Excel spreadsheet and a kitchen scale, terrified I was going to mess up the ratios. I wanted to create a resource that made raw feeding accessible to everyone—stripping away the complexity so you can focus on sourcing high-quality ingredients and watching your pet thrive.
